Big buzz on Singapore’s recently opened, super swanky New Majestic Hotel. Very design-y. Very hip and modern and edgy. The hotel restaurant’s ceiling features glass windows into the lap pool above. So guests catch glimpses of bodies gliding by overhead as they dine. Each of the 30 rooms is different. Some of the unusual room features include see-through “aquarium” bathrooms that site in the middle of a room, mirrored ceilings, beds suspended from the ceiling instead of resting on the floor, loft-style sleeping arrangements, private outdoor bathtubs, garden terraces and stained glass windows. The hotel comes from 34-year-old hotelier Loh Lik Peng, who opened Hotel 1929 in Singapore a few years back. That hotel has been lauded as an uber-hip budget lodging option.
