AirTran has rolled out a Bill Me Later feature that allows customers to confirm flights, but defer payment for up to 90 days. The company is presenting it as an option for folks who dislike online credit card transactions, but I’m thinking this sounds like a major boon for broke college kids headed on Spring Break ‘07. Buy your tix, party like a rockstar and pay three months later when you have that summer job.

If I’m not mistaken, this is the first airline to promote this sort of payment plan (in recent history)?
