- Paddling Over to Kayak.com
-
Howdy. If you’ve noticed fewer posts here in the last few days, your eyes fail you not. But lest you think I’ve been off on some un-bloggable vacation, I’m here to set the record straight. The content has not waned, it’s merely moved. Paddled, in fact, on over to the new and improved Kayak Insider, the daily travel dispatch from TravelPost.com’s parent company. There will still be posts here on a regular basis, but most of the travel news, deals and advice from around the world wide web will now live happily over there. Reasons to read the Kayak Insider:
- Comments! While this blog doesn’t accept comments, the Kayak Insider does. Write to us. We like that.
- More bloggers. Instead of just one lone blogger, the Kayak Insider has three. David, Tyler and Lorraine (that’s me).
- Weekly deals. Check in each Thursday for a list of rad weekly deals. Then get right out of this town.
- Interviews. They’re coming. You will like them.
In the coming months, we expect the Kayak Insider to grow by leaps and bounds. We hope you’ll mosey on by and check us out.

- Happy New Year from TravelPost.com!
-
We wish you safe and happy travels in 2008. Thanks for reading along as we’ve waxed poetic about travel over the last year (and the year before that, and the year before that). Things will be quiet around here today as we figure out what to do with all the leftover canapes, corks and cordials that saw us through the final moments of ‘ole ‘07. Check back in tomorrow for your regular dose of travel news, tips and advice from around the web.

- Happy Thanksgiving from TravelPost.com
-
Here’s wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving - wherever you are and however you choose to celebrate. We’ve got a lot of things to be thankful for this year. The most recent of which is yesterday’s mention of the TravelPost.com Airport Wireless Internet Guide in Daily Candy’s travel section. Thanks for the shout out, guys. Today we’ll be off dosing ourselves on tryptophan, baking rolls, finishing the sweet potato brulee and drinking good wine. Check back tomorrow for your regular weekly helping of celebrity travel news. Until then, have a safe and happy holiday.

- T+L Puts SideStep in Top 25 Best Travel Sites
-
Not that we’re all that surprised, seeing as we are well aware of how awesome SideStep is, but it’s always reaffirming to get a pat on the back from the likes of Travel + Leisure magazine. In its recent feature on the Top 25 Travel Web Sites, SideStep was at the top of the list. Here’s what the mag had to say about TravelPost.com’s parent company:Comparing top aggregators Sidestep and Kayak, we found that eight-year-old Sidestep’s flight tool has a slight edge: A handy matrix at the top of the results page gives an overview of the lowest prices pulled from 600 airlines across 200 sites. And refining the search by departure time or airport is a breeze.
Woot! Other sites I was glad to see on the list? Foodie site Chowhound, Xe.com, The Bathroom Diaries and many more!

- Vote for Your Favorite Reviews
-
We’re coming out with new features like it’s going out of style. The latest new tool on TravelPost.com is a voting system that allows members to vie for the honor of Top Review. To earn the top spot, your review must receive seven votes from different members within seven days from the time it’s posted. Top reviews appear on the TravelPost.com home page with a special award logo and are also prominently featured on the hotel page. Take a look at some top reviews on our home page, or (better yet!) vote for top reviews.

- You Asked, We Answered: Editable Hotel Reviews
-
One of the most common requests we’ve received from TravelPost.com’s legion of hotel reviewers is to make it possible to edit hotel reviews after they go live on the site. Hey, sometimes you forget a really cool aspect of a hotel that you want other travelers to know about. Sometimes, what begins as a negative experience takes a turn for the better. And sometimes, you just don’t feel like writing the whole review in one sitting. Who knows. We just want travelers to have the chance to write the most honest, accurate reviews they can. So we added this option for you. It’s something you won’t find on other hotel review sites - so we feel pretty special. If you want to edit a hotel review you’ve already written, simply log-in to TravelPost.com, navigate to the hotel review you’d like to update or change and click on the edit link. Presto, chango. You’re done.
